To some people's dismay, I really don't believe in bike helmets TOO much. Maybe a little. I never had one growing up and either did most of the people I know and I'm okay, right? RIGHT?? BUT, while at Cape Cod last week, a cop came up to me and told me that it was a state law for kids under 18 to wear one. Jordan DOES fall down a lot so....okay, I did it. Jordan was very excited. His came with knee and elbow pads and he couldn't wait to wear them.
I told him to give me his "I'm so cool" look.
Kasey had to have "Fire" on his helmet.
So, they have been so excited to wear their helmets bike riding of course. BUT, due to this horrible New England rain that is stealing away our summer, for 2 days they couldn't. So, when they woke me up in the morning and I look over the side of the bed this is what I see. They had them on in their PJ's....
When Kasey was playing with his playdough, he had it on.....In the car on the way to Nana's AND while helping me cut Zuccinni for dinner!!!
They finally got to ride them yesterday at the park. Kasey just looks so cute on his little Hot Wheels bike. We didn't even intend to match the colors of the helmet to the bike but whoolaaa, we have a match.!!
Coming around a corner...man, thank goodness we have that helmet :)
My mom and I go down and watch them ride around the parking lots in our chairs. She brings cookies and drinks for them. I have the best mom!!!
And now we are off to Arizona and Mexico to visit the inlaws and we can't wait. I'll see you all in 2 weeks (if I make it through the heat that is). Bye for now!!!

Cape Cod 2009

Here are our pictures from our annual Cape Cod vacation. Although it was windy, we had great weather. The kids had a blast and are already bored wanting to go back after only being home one day. Here is Kasey on the rocks overlooking the ocean in Falmouth which is where our condo is. Loving this shot.
Jordan on the rocks. Also love THIS shot.
A couple of times we went "crabbing". Translastion : looking for crabs. The kids loved doing this and caught a ton of them. They were everywhere. Of course I brought the kids down in their clothes thinking they would just wade in. Again, I haven't learned my lesson. So, we stripped down to the undies and they went in.
Kasey making sure they're still in there. He and Jordan created a little habitat in there with sand, shells and rocks.
This is Kasey's bucket on the second day we went. Jordan had a huge crab in his bucket that kept trying to get out. We think it did for a second and stung or scratched Jordan with his claw, because all of a sudden Jordan started screaming...and I mean REALLY screaming. He had a red patch on his stomach and was crouching down in terrible pain. We brought him back to the condo and gave him some Benadydral. Poor little guy.
Brother Mark.
CANNON BALL!!!!! He kept doing this over and over at the pool. He has no fear, he just jumps in and even tries to dive.
Fun with Goggles.
Fun with hair!
Little cutie. Jordan is quite the little fish. He really wanted to take off his swimmies this year, so I told him if he could jump in the deep end (with Daddy standing nearby of course) without his swimmies and come up and swim to the side of the pool all by himself, he didn't have to wear them anymore. He did just that and not only went to the side of the pool but swam the whole length of it. It took him a few minutes to get to the other side, but he made it. He really swims his little heart out. So proud!
One day we took the bikes to Martha's Vineyard. This is on the ferry to the island. Jordan and cousin Adam and Julia.
Me and the boys on the ferry.
Here's the fam waiting to get back on the ferry after a long day. We took our bikes and did some shopping and eating. Then we were looking for this one beach my dad had told us about in Edgartown. We biked a long time and still couldn't find it. All and all we biked 14 miles. I must say I'm pretty proud of myself. I have a very sensitve "back side" and boy was I hurting. Even though I was exhausted, I'm glad I did it. Martha's vineyard is georgous.
Only a face a mother could love. If you want to go shopping at the jewlery store next door, just buy your kids an icecream cone and leave them with Daddy.
We went to a place called Zooquarium. They had a small aquarium and petting zoo. The kids liked it. I wanted to take this picture because all 3 of them were wearing matching colored shirts.
Right outside the condo, there is a grassy quad. We play there when we're not at the pool or beach. Here is Scott giving me an action shot playing badmitton.
We then played Bocce. I had never played before and neither had my mom. She did great..and ended up getting the closest to the ball out of everyone. Way to go mom.
Jordan and Julia playing catch with Scott.
The boys wrestling cousin Matthew. My boys love getting rough. Boys will be boys.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The video below is of Kasey telling Scott how to dive into the pool. I missed most of the part where he shows him how to hold his arms up in the air...but it was really cute. It also has a little of Jordan swimming. Sorry it's a little long.

Celebrating the 4th
This post is a little late...oops. So many things to do. So, for the July 4th weekend we went to my brother Mark's house for food and fireworks. He does this every year and he and my brother Aaron really go all out to put on a good show. Since fireworks are illegal in RI, they drive a few hours over the border to New Hampshire.
Getting fire...
Waiting for the show to begin...
This is Kasey when the fireworks began. He was actually really good after he got used to a few.
Ohhhhh,,,ahhhhhh.
After a long night, Jordan sleeping with all his glow in the dark bracelets on.

Getting the Job Done
The boys wanted to wash the cars a few weeks ago. I knew it would be a wet one...so I threatened the lack of fruit snacks for a week before we got started if anyone got mommy extremely soggy. They of course went wild but they got the job done. Notice the car washing "rainboot" attire.
Jordan said he had to make faces to work hard on getting it done.
By this time the water was mostly gone but Jordan kept going. Of course daddy's car was easier to reach so it got the best washing.

Night Escapades
I never know what I'm going to get when I go in to make sure they're covered over at night. He didn't have his shark slippers on when I put him to bed!!
