Wednesday was a really nice day. I had some friends ask me to go to the beach but I wasn't feeling too well so I didn't go. However, by the afternoon I felt better so we took a trip with my mom and dad down to Point Judith, RI to get some clam cakes and chowder and collect some rocks for my moms garden. Here are the boys at the Point Judith beach. The rocks are so smooth and round. My kids were gathering them up in droves until...the beach cop told us we weren't allowed to take the rocks...WHAT? Dude this is a public beach (I thought to myself,,,and we're taken some). So, as the little police man was turning his head, we hustled some into the car. Then we got caught again but after seeing Jordan's face of sadness, he told us we could take only 2, one for each boy. Little did he know we already had about 10 in the car. HA!
Jordan and his Nana. My mom has been sick for awhile and couldn't go to the beach with us but once this summer, so Jordan and Kasey were thrilled when I told them Nana was finally coming.
Nana and Kasey.
Feeling out the biggest roundest rock we could hustle behind our backs... ;0
This is what we did with the rocks when we got them home. We painted them to give to Nana to put in her flower/rock garden.
It was a beautiful day. I love RI.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game
My church calling is 1st counselor in Young Womens. We took the boys and girls to the Pawsox game for a combined activity Tuesday night. Scott and the kids also came along. It was the boys first ball game. They Really enjoyed themselves. Of course it did help that they had two friends along to get silly with.
Jordan eating his first ballpark "dog".
Family shot. Kudos to Lisa for getting the awesome sunset in the background. It was a humid night. My hair started out bone straight and well, as you can see it didn't stay that way.
Jordan and Mommy
Some of the kids. I love we're we live...we have a ton of diversity in our ward and I love it! It ranges from Liberia and Domincan Republic to Cambodia and others. These kids really are a great group.
The BOYZ.....
My soon to be Kindergartener sitting on daddys lap watching the game. He asked a bunch of questions and would get upset if he missed a hit. He has been singing the "Take me out to the ball game" song all day.
My soon to be preschooler with his BIG brown eyes...

Sand Castles and Beach Babes

I love the beach. I don't love the sand, or the cold water or dragging everything to the perfect spot. But, I do love the sound of the water, the smell, the breeze, the company of my friends and the great view of the ocean and rocks from my chair. Most of all I love to watch my kids have fun and they do love the beach. They would stay there all day if I let them. It's been extremely hot and humid around here the last week or so; hence, a trip to Captain RW beach was in need. I went with 6 other girls from church. Here are all of the kids except two, Matthew and Kasey. Kasey was camera shy at the moment. Hopefully we can fit another trip or two in before school starts.
We caught crabs and clams.
Swam on our boogie boards. (Jordan and Annabelle)
Played in the mud. (Jordan and Noah)
Dug for hours...
And Buried each other in the sand. Jordan LOVED being buried. He giggled the whole time and couldn't wait until it was his turn.
Some of us slept....Poor Matthew was so bored. No one there his age to hang with.
But then at the end...Matthew woke up and started jumping up on his surf board. This kid can jump really high. I'm proud to say, my photo skills provided Matty with a new profile picture on his facebook page!
And cousin Kasey wanted to be like Matthew so he was trying too. It was very cute.
Thanks to the other beach babes who called and invited me to go. I appreciated it and loved your company. We took a group shot of all the ladies but I sore to Jenny and the others I wouldn't place it on my blog. Of course we are all looking our best...georgeous...but you know how it goes. I'm going to hold up on my end of the bargin and NOT place it in my post....Debby! :p

Meditech Work Party.
Last Saturday was Scott's work party at Meditech. They have this every year. All you can eat Lobster and food of every kind. There are carnival rides for the kids, cotton candy, doughboys, candy, face painting, petting zoo, boat rides, horse rides and so much more..and it's all free. It's a great time especially for the kids. No tickets here, just them getting to ride every ride over and over as many times as they wish. This year Jordan went beyond the "wall of choices" of things to get painted and asked the lady for a tiger. He was very specific..he wanted the black and orange striped animal and NOT the one with the fur around it's head (A Lion). I think he looks AWESOME!!! Kasey got a turtle. So cute.
Our battery ran out after the first shot. So we only got two. Here is my little Tiger riding a horse.
On a side note. Today is the anniversary of Scott asking me to marry him almost 12 years ago. I'd still say yes...over and over. Happy Anniversary Scottie. xoxo

No More You Tube!!
Ya know, I'm not a big fan of You tube. I rarely go on it. In fact, new technology is really not my thing. I never grew up with computers and I'm still not too much of a fan. I don't allow my kids to play video games yet and I don't like certain cartoons like Spongebob (I think he's fresh..in MY opinion of course). I try to limit how much and what shows they watch. SO, I am always cautious when letting my kids watch things ON You tube. When I do, it's because a friend has forwarded me a video or my kids want to watch car races and monster truck clips. The other day I let the kids watch a few videos with me standing by their side. I then decided to get on the treadmill. Jordan wanted to keep watching the videos. I didn't like the idea of leaving him alone with it but for the first time...I tried to not worry so much and....I did. He was watching Thomas the Train and I figured it was okay. As I finished my workout and came in he was still watching Thomas as I told him to, but now Thomas was calling Percy a "stupid Bast#$#" and all sorts of other names. OH MY GOODNESS!! I flipped out. Jordan didn't understand what they were saying so he didn't think to click on a different clip....and that's just the problem. What's wrong with this world? Why do some people think it's funny to do this? They are fully aware some kid will see Thomas the Train and think it's okay to watch...infringing on innocent minds.
I get a lot of flack sometimes from people who think I'm too strict because I don't let my boys watch Spongebob, or play video games or watch movies where there are fighting scenes, or buy toy guns etc...but ya know what? Tough crap. I'm going to stick to my beliefs and keep my kids minds as innocent as I can for as long as I can! Okay...breath in..breath out!

Mexico/Arizona 2009
This was our 3rd trip to Puerto Pinasco, Mexico. It's a city about 2 hours south of the border between southern Arizona and Mexico. We had a great vacation and there are MANY photos I want to share...so... warning...WICKED long post (that wicked was for you Quinn and Doug).
This is one of the shots I took on our way to Mexico on the Arizona side.
The places we have to pass through to get to the resort are EXTREMELY poor. The first time I came here I must admit I was floored by the poverty and at the same time counting my blessings. This is just one of the scenes you might see down here. There are shacks and broken down houses and cars all over. The streets also are mostly dirt. And this...
But...among the poverty there are also places like this. This is my favorite house at the resort. Scott and I argue that the top is either purple or blue (I say purple).
There are also places like this...
And sunsets like this...!! Beautiful!
Here are some of the cousins hanging out on the golf course right outside our condo. Kasey, Noah, Jackson, Jordan, Savanna.
This is an icecream place we visited a few times since it was so dang hot there. Good ol' Thrifty's icecream. Scott's brother Doug, his sister Maline and her hubby Alan. Some of the kids at Thriftys. Jordan, Noah, Savanna, Kasey, Jack, Keegan.
So, one thing I must say was that although it was a GREAT vacation...it was DANG HOT, hot hot. The highest it got was 115 degrees, no lie. The sun was intense and it was hard to stay out of the pool or ocean for more then a few minutes. Even the shade was hot. The sun was so intense, I burned my scalp (which is now peeling and giving me the prettiest 'snow' in the hair look) and the boys got fried. This is Kasey and his sunburn..his first. And we all know how white Kasey is. Even reapplying after an hour sometimes wasn't enough for my kids or me. I got a bad sunburn on my shoulders and freckles are popping out that I haven't seen in years. In fact it was so hot, Jordan got dehydrated after the first day of jumping out on the trampoline. I was angry at myself for letting it happen...lesson learned.
The pools at the resort are GREAT!! We swam in at least 6 of them. The water is SO warm and not freezing like the ones here at home and so is the ocean. It's the ONLY place I can just walk in the ocean/pool without being a complete wimp and complaining it's too cold. This is Jordan coming off the slide.
There was one pool that hung over another by a little cliff. The kids were jumping off it until we "got caught"....OOPS. The staff didn't like it too much. I took this shot of Jordan right before I got yelled at...in Spanish of course.
Some of us at the pool.
We had LOTS of great food down there. I kept telling myself I was going to take a picture of my kids eating one of these but I kept forgetting. So I hope you don't mind Ben (my Brother in Law), I'm using you as my model. They had this guy who would walk along the beach selling mangos. He peels them fresh, cuts them like a flower and then drenches them with either Lime juice or Chile sauce. I preferred the Lime and it is soooooooooooo good. Ben must of ordered about 30 or so (thanks again Ben) and we gobbled them up. In fact, Jordan really loved his and he even lost another tooth biting into it!!! :) Is it me Ben or does your hair match the fruit?
Jackson, Jordan and Kasey sipping virgin daiquiris at the pool.
We had a family friend take pictures of all of us since all of Scott's 7 siblings and parents were there with their families. This is all the grandkids so far and 2 on the way.nu=3337)768)838)WSNRCG=327877647+335nu0mrj.jpg)
The beach here is beautiful. Since it's so hot, we saved the beach for at night around 6 and stayed until after the sun set. Then, we'd go back up to the pool for a little more swimming.
This is Scott and 4 of his siblings jumping. These shots were hilarious to watch being taken. Maline, Scott, Quinn, Doug and David.nu=3337)768)838)WSNRCG=3278776473335nu0mrj.jpg)
Family shot. Man I have good lookin' men in my life!!
Some of us Babes on the beach!! Bella, Heather, Me, Maline, Mieke, Dani, Little Bridget and Savanna.
Scott and his mom. Sharee took a nasty fall on the pavement and had to have stitches above her right eye. The whole side of her face soon turned black and blue. We hadn't reached that point yet in this picture.
Jordan and cousin Savanna.
Kasey trying to catch a wave!
Work it!!!
Jordan right before sunset.
Quinn and David in one of their better moments...ha! :)
Kasey in one of HIS better moments.
Jordan, Triston, Keegan, and Kasey playing in the sand. They were really cute.
Most of the little kids bought shark tooth necklaces. They thought they were pretty cool. We missed Triston and Keegan in this shot.
And so we leave Mexico to return to Grandma and Grandpa's house in Tuscon. This is the border. With everything going on you'd expect a little more hoopla...but all was quiet.
Back in Tucson, Grandma has a trampoline. I took these the night before we left. Yes, there were a few injuries that occurred, mostly taken by my accident prone child Kasey. He looked quite the mess after he was done. And, storytime the night before we left to go home. We will miss you Grandma and Grandpa and everyone else. We had a GREAT time and loved seeing you all. My kids have already been asking me EVERY day, when we're going back to Arizona. See you at Thanksgiving.
