Jordan Turns 6!

My Baby boy turns 6 today. I really can't believe it has been 6 yrs. Then again, after looking back at all this baby pictures last night, it's hard for me to believe he was ever that small. This picture above brings back many mixed emotions.. It brings back memories of joy, fear, pain, loss, excitement, anxiety, compassion, forgiveness, faith, tears and many more emotions. Most of all however, it brings back feelings of intense love and gratitude. Almost every time I look at Jordan, I am reminded that miracles can happen; that extreme joy can come from the depths of sorrow.
I am also reminded that families can be together forever!

This is Jordan and I right before heading home from the hospital. I swear he had the biggest cheeks I've ever seen on a baby.

His first professional pictures at 7 months old. Man alive he was such a chunka!

This is one of my favorite pictures of him. I think he was about 8 or 9 months here.

Little cutie at around 10 or 11 months

It wasn't me mommy. !!!!

Sitting in his new car bed getting ready for baby brother to come. 20 months.

Disney World. 2 1/2 yrs or so.

Arizona. November 2009. 5yrs old.

1st day of kindergarten. September 2009.

Jordan is getting really tall and he's extremely heavy. This kid has daddy's gene's written all over him. He's got cute freckles on his nose and he's got these pretty, interesting eyes that I'm still not sure how to describe . They're a grey/hazelish color. Jordan loves Legos and is very good at building and creating. Give this kid a brush, pencil, toilet paper rolls, paper, pipe cleaners and a roll of tape can he can make you anything you want. He's very creative. He's also very friendly. He'll go right up to anyone and ask them to play..he has no fear and loves socializing. He's the one who will get out on the dance floor and boogie and not be shy. He loves to laugh, jump, run and be silly. He loves riding his bike, camping and just being outside. He's really smart too and loves to soak up any facts he can. He still loves cars, trucks, rockets and anything with wheels and wants to be an astronaut some day. Jordan also loves to swim and set a goal to try to get on the swim team this spring. He's extremely curious and sometimes just can't help himself when he knows he shouldn't touch or get into something The thing I love most about Jordan, is his sweet heart. He's always thinking of Kasey when he gets a cookie or sticker and he's not there...he's always making me cards and pictures. He loves to snuggle with me and give me kisses. Funny thing is, he saves that Snuggle/kisses side just for me when we're home. . I love you Buddy. Life would be empty without you. Happy Birthday!

Youth Ski Trip to New Hampshire

Last weekend we took the Church Young Women/Men on a ski trip to New Hampshire. The kids had a lot of fun. Unfortunately, we had one injury but for the first time, it wasn't me!! Here is the whole group. As I have said before...we have a great group of kids and we all had a good time!

Most of you know, I broke my legs and tore the ACL in my knee skiing when I was going to BYU. Hence, I don't have ANY desire to ski ever again. I did decide to try snowboarding though and I must say, I did pretty well. Although it took me and the girls a LONG time to get the nerve to finally go down, we did it!! I have no problem staying up, it's stopping that's my issue. As I pick up speed, I get wicked nervous, I have wheelchair flashbacks and then don't know how to stop, so I make myself fall. I do need to take lessons next time. Why am I holding ski polls in this picture? It was the only way to stop myself from sliding down the mountain...I crack myself up!

I'm not sure why this picture is so small....but it's me on my butt trying to get my foot in. Once I'm down, I have just cannot get up on this thing. So frustrating.

Pamela, Mariangel, Isabel and myself after we were done snowboarding....on to sledding/tubing.

These girls (Sandy and Sonya) have a ton of guts. This was only their 2nd time boarding and they did great! They were going ALL day down the hard ones.

Again, not sure why I can't get this picture bigger but...this is Lisa and I tubing. This was my favorite part. MUCH less dangerous and MUCH easier on my back and knee. They have a machine that takes you up the mountain right on your tube. Who knew?? Luxury! The girls and I were racing and had a blast. Thanks to Lisa and Nolan who arranged the whole thing. Okay, I'm done with Winter now...can Spring come quickly please. :)
