Labor day weekend

Yes, I know labor day weekend was a few weeks ago, but I've been busy!!! We went to one of my favorite places, Point Judith. The part we went to is just a little fishing cove, but there is lots to do.

We stood gazing at the water. How cute!

...we collected LOTS of rocks. Last time we went here we got in trouble for taking the rocks, no park ranger in sight this time..he he. ! As I have said before on my blog, most of the rocks here are completely smooth and round. No rough edges and they're perfect for painting on.

We explored caves...(well, the kids did. Mommy can't fit her behind under these rocks) :)

We then walked along the rock wall. I must say, I'm not as scared as I used to be that the kids will trip and fall but still VERY careful. We looked down through holes in the rocks...

...and some of us had to take a second look in a rather interesting way!!!

We even went swimming and again I mean the kids did. No way mommy is getting into that freezing cold water...brrrrrrrr. And a trip to Point Judith wouldn't be the same without a stop off to have clam cakes and chowder...ummm yummy!

This thing Corners like it's on rails...

A Line from one of my favorite movies...Pretty Woman. Anyone else remember the part where she's driving the Lotus and she says "This thing corners like it's on rails"? Kasey saw this Lotus in the parking lot of Lowes last week. I've never seen one before. I love sports cars and this one was beautiful! Kasey actually noticed it first (that's my boy) and insisted he be in the picture to show daddy. As they say in BOLT...Zoom..Zoom......:)

Kasey's first day

Kasey started his first day of school Monday. It's his 2nd year of preschool at the YMCA. Just like last year however, he gave me some trouble about taking his picture the first day of school. Just like last year, he fought me, and cried and refused to wear a collar shirt etc... Finally after alot of bribing I finally got these 2 shots of him smiling.

This is Kasey's new "fuzzy Pillow". If you've known me forever and seen me travel, you'll know that I HAVE to travel/sleep with my black pillow I've had for about 24 years. I don't lay my head on it, I cuddle it in my arms (no laughing please). So...Kasey has been sneaking into my room each night and taking my pillow to sleep with. I steal it back of course when I go to bed. A lady in our ward said she would make him a fuzzy pillow and since then, he and the pillow have been like paper and glue. He even took it to church last week. SO, convincing him to leave it home from school was a tough bargin. I promised him a picture with it.

This year when I dropped him off however, he started to cry. I'm the mom who can usually drop off my child at school or nursery and not be too flustered emotionally. I'll be honest, for me it's a big well needed "break" in the day. I have trouble believing those moms who say they have a big cry after dropping off their kids off to preschool because they just can't believe they have to part from them. Really??? Am I the only one who welcomes this "me" time? Anyway...this time, he kept his composure and nodded he was fine but wouldn't go play. Then I saw his lip quivering and asked him what was wrong. He then cried and cried (he also did this at camp his first day) and I had to have the teacher take him away after 10 min. or so. I felt so bad leaving...like I was abandoning him in his time of need and I felt like a bad mom. He was fine his 2nd and third day. He explained to me that on the first day "I cry because on the first day, I'm just thinking about being with my mommy all day." Awwwwww. I feel loved!!!!

Potty Training

Just when I thought I was done with potty training!!!!! This is what my kids do when they're bored at Home Depot.

Everyone going by was laughing as I took pictures of these two clowns. Wish I could make them bigger but I can't since they are sent from my phone. One guy even said they should blow this photo up and use is as a commercial for coming to Home Depot. Too funny.

Spring time fun

Here are a few pictures I forgot to add to the blog. You can tell by the trees it's the beginning of spring this year. Just some pictures of the kids on the swings.....

Jordan kept wanting to just go down the slide on his own but Kasey kept hanging onto him or trying to pull him down. I got some cute pictures of them having fun together.

Until pretty soon, Jordan got pretty tired of Kasey continuing to tease and kick and just be plain annoying, so he got pretty upset. Of course Kasey being the little sly one, puts on an "angel, I didn't do anything" face for the camera. When I see this picture I just have to laugh. What mommy? I'm just so cute there's no way I could do anything wrong. ...Poor Jordan, who to his credit, could pound on his little brother but doesn't.

Whenever I tell the boys to make a funny face, they either stick out their tongues, or Kasey rolls his eyes up. Too funny.

Kasey finally learned how to pump the swing on his own (as did Jordan this year too). He just came home from camp one day this summer and said, "mommy, I can swing on my own now." We had been trying to teach him for months. I guess it just takes some of his friends doing it and him being left out, to make him do it. I can't tell you how liberating it is to have your kids be able to swing themselves without my help. Crazy how a little thing like that can make a mom so happy. Of course I still swing them once in awhile, but it's good to know that they don't have to wait on mommy to do everything. Jordan for the last year or so has been able to strap himself in his own car seat. Kasey is on his way.........Yessssss!!!!!

First Day of School

This is Jordan on his first day of school last year...

...and this is this year. Jordan is in first grade this year and I can't believe it. Besides the fact that he has less teeth then he did last year, he has grown so much bigger and has that Gooch Height. He's the tallest/biggest one in his class, yet inside he's such a little boy. He didn't want to start school because of all the work he had to do in Kindergarten (which I agree was way to much), but so far so good. So far he says he's had a great time and loves his teacher and friends.

Last year for Kindergarten, I put him on the bus in the morning and that was that. I blindly didn't know that a lot of the mothers follow the bus to the school to make sure they get there okay and to take pictures. I just took my pictures before he left. So, this year I was ready to go to the school. I told Jordan I would meet him there and he said "why are you going to meet me there? I'll be okay mommy. " and that was that. He's so independent and has really never had much fear of anything. Since I wasn't feeling good that morning, I was sort of glad he didn't need me but I did feel guilty. So after talking to him when he got home, we agreed it would be okay if I came next year.

I really can't believe 6 years has gone by already since he was born. I can no longer pick him up he's so heavy, but he still likes to cuddle and so I'll have to survive on that for now. Love you little buddy!

Final days of Summer

The last days of summer are here. What way to try to make it stay than to go to the beach one last time. A bunch of us girls from church went to Sand Hill Cove for one last hurrah....man was it hot! The kids had a blast. Kasey has had his surf board all year but finally decided he wanted it on the last day. He has found a new hobby!

All the kiddies at the beach. We took one of us ladies, but you will NOT see that on MY blog...nope, no way!

This picture is actually of a previous beach day with my friends from high school. East Matunik beach. Jordan and Kasey were the only boys, but meshed well and had fun.

My little Jordan fish. Until next year.....
