Scott graduates
Scott graduated with his Masters in May. Not only did he graduate, but he did it with honors. Straight A's. I couldn't be more proud.
Scott receiving his diploma.
The kids sat through 3 hours of ceremony. They were perfect!
Scott worked incredibly hard during this last 18 months. He graduated working a full time job, part time job, being on the high council and stake Young Mens in our church, being Kasey's Den leader and soccer coach, mourning the death of his father and taking care of his family. There were many sleepless nights and long hour days. Scotty, I'm sure your dad was there watching you and is very proud of your accomplishments. Like father, like son. We love you!

Happy birthday Scotty
This guy turned 43. Doesn't he look 1/2 his age? We made daddy a cake and Jordan painted him a picture. My boy has skills. We love this guy like crazy. He's a great example to his boys and a terrific husband! Happy birthday sweetie!

Yard work
Fall has set in. It's my favorite time of year. The trees in my yard are now orange and red and falling on the roads as I drive. I love that. So, we still haven't closed the pool and I must say it will be one cold time for Scott when he has to get in to put the top on. The boys and Scott cut some trees down so that more sunlight hits the pool and maybe make the water a little warmer next summer.
The boys love helping daddy especially outside. Unfortunately shortly after these pictures were taken Kasey came running in the house screaming. It's the kind of scream every mother dreads, as it pierces straight through your heart and makes you shiver with fear. It's different then the boys fighting, it's a different scream then scraping a knee!! Poor Kasey had stepped on a Bee hive and got stung multiple times. He had 3 bees still in his shirt as he came in the house and I counted 5 stings. Poor baby was out of his mind with pain and fright. UGH...I hope that never happens again. After some Benadryl, ice, and a little cuddling from mommy he was soon okay and pretty sleepy. Whew glad that's over.
My handsome prince. (blah,,,gush..I know) But it's just so true, I had to say it. And can I just say that I love my back yard.? It's so pretty. !!!! These pics were taken before the colors started to change...so it's even more beautiful. :)

Father's Day 2010
It seems as though I have always been destined to have many men in my life. I grew up the only girl with 4 brothers, my dad of course, and now I have a wonderful husband and two sons....no girls in sight!!! When I was young, I used to long for a sister. I can tell you that that's no longer the case. I love having 4 brothers and 2 sons! Scott says he gets embarrassed sometimes by all the nice things I say about him on my blog, so I will refrain from getting all sappy. Scott is not only a great husband, but a great father. I am always catching Jordan and Kasey copying him....and they are always saying that one day they want to grow up to be as strong as daddy. I am blessed to have a husband who works so hard at 2 jobs so we can never want for anything. I am also blessed to have my own father who also worked hard for us kids and whom I know would give/do anything for me, if he was able, if I just ask.
Here is a recap of the fun day we had. We had dinner at my house and then the kids had a blast playing.
The day started off with breakfast for daddy of strawberry, chocolate chip, whipped cream pancakes. The kids couldn't wait to make this for Scott. Doesn't it look yummy???
The "older" kids like 2 of my brothers, spent most of the time out on the 4-wheelers. Mark and my nephew Matthew on this one.
I can't believe I forgot to flip this one before uploading it....sorry! We then had fun on the slip and slide. Here is my niece Caroline. Here face is hilarious!
My niece Jaymie. Jaymie would walk most of the way and slide at the end. Too cute!
Water fights also took place....Julia and Jordan. And the highlight of the day.....Big man on a little bike. Mark,,,you crack me up!
Happy Fathers' day to all the men in my life.

Marathon Madness

Scott ran his 3rd Marathon this last weekend and I'm so proud of him. I'm usually proud of him when he accomplishes this as well as his 3 triathlons but this run was different. This one was especially difficult because it was cold, rainy, windy and just plain miserable out there. It even started snowing in Massachusetts at some point. A friend of mine also ran and she finished with hypothermia and frostbite. The kids and I met Scott at finish line. First, we had to walk about 3/4 of a mile in the pouring rain to get there, then we stood there in the cold/rain for a long time in the freezing cold. I was ill prepared as a mom I must say, as I didn't bring any gloves or boots or umbrellas for the kids. Kasey had his little umbrella, and Jordan and I had ponchos on but the kids still had soaking wet/ freezing feet and hands. It was crowded and they got pushed/shoved quite a bit also. Then when it was done we had to walk back in the rain to the car. Kudos to my kids however, who did very well trying not to complain.
Can you see Scott in this picture? He's smack dead in the middle with a gray hat and black shirt. There wasn't many places to stand up high and I had a terrible shot. Plus I was bundled up, trying to keep my 2 hands on both the kids so they wouldn't wander, holding the umbrella over Kasey, and trying to get the camera out of my backpack and keep it dry. So, I did a horrible job of documenting Scott's experience. Thankfully my friend Lisa's husband got this good shot of him coming around the stadium towards the finish line. Thanks Nolan.
Here is the brief video I got of Scott crossing the finish line. Gray hat, black shirt. Once I got a clean shot, a lady with a HUGE black annoying umbrella got right in my way at the crucial time. If I hadn't had my kids with me, I might have gotten quite verbal with the nice lady. &%^&*
At this point, Kasey had started crying and he cried all the way back to the car...poor kid!! If you listen you can hear him crying on the video.
Poor Scott was shaking all the way home in the car and his arms and legs were numb. Not once did I hear him complain. This is something not a lot of people can do. I for sure could not. I'm so proud of Scottie for finishing in "just" over 4 hours. Your my hero xoxo. :)

Happy birthday Scottie
Yesterday was Scottie's 38th birthday. I can't believe when I met him he was 25. I love it when he has his birthday because from January until June, he is 3 1/2 years younger than me but after June he's only 3 years younger. Only 7 months difference you say? Well, after you hit your 40's, 7 months is a BIG deal to this old lady.
Scott really is the best husband there is. I know some of you ladies will fight me on that. :) I am bias I'll admit. My man will do anything for me. Anything to make me happy and comfortable. He's so sweet to me, I don't feel I deserve it most of the time. For example, when Kasey was born and I had another c-section, he got up almost EVERY night with the baby whether he had to work or not for almost 4 months. Scott loves his sleep so that's no small beans! I only hope that I return the favor sometimes by making days like his birthday a good one! I must admit I didn't do as well this year and I hope he forgives me. Happy birthday honey!!
The kids made Daddy a cake. Now, I am quite the control freak when it comes to toddlers making a mess in the kitchen that I have to clean up; BUT, this year I tried to relent and let them run with it. We had chocolate cake with strawberry and Yellow decorative frosting, sprinkles and jellybeans on this cake. AS you can see, Kasey dumped the whole bottle of sprinkles mainly in one spot. I only freaked out for a second or so before I remembered what this was all about and then only spread "a few" of them around. Jordan then continued to have a blast squeezing the yellow from the tube everywhere. We then topped it off with Licorice. Doesn't it look yummy. Of course anything with chocolate looks yummy to ME. Daddy loved it!
