After over a year of having around 12 paint samples painted on my kitchen wall, I finally picked a color. Note that the color I picked was NOT one of the 12 to 13. It was crazy. I just couldn't find a color that sat right with me until I saw this. So we finally have no dirty hand prints or crayon on the wall after 8 years of kids and 12 years of living here. I was very excited.
My fantastic handy hubby put in the new wood floor. We wanted to get it in before my inlaws arrived for Jordan's baptism. Scott stayed up until 4am one night and finished within two days after that. My previous floor was disgustingly ugly and I couldn't get it clean any longer. SO happy about this floor!!!! We still have the counter tops to replace and the butcher block to refinish but it looks SO much better. Can't wait for it to be done!

Ahhh Much Better!
Good job Scotty! (ignore the spots from my camera. I've cleaned the lens a million times but I think it's the dust in the air). I'm not a fan of wood floors for the one reason that I don't think they're very comfortable, but they do look beautiful! We've had one casualty already with Kasey slipping and banging his head but I think they're getting used to it. I love my new floor.
Happy Love Day everyone!

Home Improvement
This is a before and after picture of my nasty, ugly, disgusting, stained green rug in my living room. When we first looked at the house to buy it I thought "who puts in green carpet?..yuk!". It quickly became the "first home improvement project" on the to do list. Well, that was 10 years ago. FINALLY we are getting rid of it. I knew when I had kids I would have to wait awhile since I didn't want the stains that often come with children on a new rug. Plus, well it just hasn't been a priority with so many other things to have to spend the money on. I finally just got new curtains after 10 years too. Home decorating comes slow to me. :)This rug has seen chocolate milk, punch, doritos, makeup, magic marker and toddler goodies (if you know what i mean) among many other things. It has become sooo ugly, and I have been embarrassed for so many years. SO, we got some of the men in my life to "get to work".
This was the kids first reaction to the drilling.
After that though, they were on board. They got their rain boots, hard hats, tool belts and tools out and were very excited to help daddy. They love doing this kind of stuff. They're all boy! Move that rug boys, rip it up and get it out of here!
Jordan is actually quite a strong kid. If any of you have ever tried to pick him up, you know how solid he is. After he saw daddy get his work gloves on, he went and got his snow gloves on. He has his bob the builder tool belt on but you can't see it. What a big strong little guy!
Here's a video of the kids helping Daddy. We're almost done with the living room and then it's on to the hall and bedroom. Stay tuned!!!
