Jordan had his Blue and Gold Dinner for scouts this year this past Friday. Our den was in charge of getting it up and going. Our den leader Jason did a great job. Here is Jordan's troop bringing in the colors and flag. Of course Jordan lost his hat right before this so he's the odd man out. They looked so grown up compared to last year.
Here is Jordan and his Den earning their Wolf Badge.
We then had a laser light show and a dance. All the kids were out there shaking it. Jordan and Kasey were out there the whole time and I have to say that Kasey was really bringing it. He even thinks he can break dance. It was so funny to watch.Last event of the night was the limbo. It was a real struggle for the taller kids of course. The prize was a marshmellow shooter which Jordan REALLY wanted. He just didn't have a chance against the shorter kids but he lasted pretty long. It was a fun night and the kids loved it.

Pinewood Derby 2012
Once again the pinewood derby was a blast for the kids. We were there bright and early during the middle of snowstorm. Our first of the year. Jordan and Kasey with a close up view of the action.
Some of Jordan's Den
Jordan's friend Jason praying to the Gods of the Pinewood to make his car come in first.
Jordan awaiting his race to start.Kasey wanted to join the siblings race this year so Scott helped him build a car. He was very excited. Scott worked REALLY hard on the cars with the boys. Unfortunately, Jordan didn't place this year...but he took the disappointment VERY well. Scott however, was the one upset. It's that Gooch competitive drive he has. Plus, he worked so hard. BUT, we have many more derbys coming down the line. We'll be back next year with a vengance! ha.

Braving the weather
We haven't had snow all winter except once in October. The time it decides to snow...ALOT...and it's the day of Kasey's birthday party. I was stressed out all day worrying no one would show up. 6 people canceled do to being sick, the bad weather or car trouble, but we had enough to go on and Kasey was happy. To those of you who braved the storm (and I know it was a pain), thank you thank you! It meant a lot to me to see Kasey have a good time.
Once again, Scott pulls through with the cake. Kasey saw this cake in a FAMILY FUN magazine and has held on to it for a whole year. I thought it turned out great.
Just like last year, we had his party at the Little Gym. He loves this place and it was just right for his age. They have an hour of instruction from an employee and then 1/2 hour for cake and ice cream. Here are all the rugrats.

My little/big six yr old cutie. Happy birthday sweet boy!

A Trip to the Museum of Science
About a month ago, we finally went to the Boston Museum of Science. Since it is so expensive to get in, we wanted to go on a day when we could spend ALL day there. So, Thanksgiving weekend we stayed in a hotel and then went to the museum the next day. It was fun. Jordan has been waiting a long time to go.
Jordan loves everything science and could spend a LONG time on each exhibit. It was kind of driving Kasey crazy because his attention span isn't so long. At the end of the day, they were closing up and we had to go. Jordan kept insisting we were missing some of the exhibits. He had another few hours in him for sure. Mommy's back....not so much. We were there from opening to closing.
Not sure if you can see the fear in Kasey's eyes, but I found out after he got out, that they were playing scary bat noises inside the head. Not a good experience for Kasey.
The info said that this is the only T-Rex footprint ever found. Glad you can't read the words around the print that say please don't touch. Ooops!
GREAT time at the museum. The museum actually sits on the river and it's quite pretty when the sun is setting. We learned a lot and it was great family time.

Kasey turns 6
Today my baby boy turns six. He's growing like a bean and maturing right before my eyes. This picture was taken tonight and He just looks so grown up to me. He kept thanking me all day for his presents with kisses galore.
Kasey has this smile that's contagious. At preschool last year the teacher kept telling him to not "strain" his smile...but that's just his smile and I love it. It melts me every time.
Kasey loves to swim. He's been jumping in the water since he was under 2 yrs old. He has no fear. This scares me a little especially when he gets on his bike and does wheelies and stands on his bike seat with one arm and one leg hanging off. At the tender age of 6 he has already broken his finger and just a month ago, received 3 stitches on his chin.
This was last year at the beach. I must admit Kasey has quite the little temper..but there's that cute smile he gives and I swear that's what's keeping him alive sometimes. ha!
When he went to preschool last year he cried for a week and didn't want me to leave him. So, I was a little nervous for him on his first day of kindergarten. He said "mommy, I cry because I don't like being away from you for so long." Melt!!! He is for sure a momma's boy. This is his first day of kindergarten. Can I say how handsome he is??
Another thing about Kasey is that he LOVES stuff animals. He has a ton. This picture proves it I think. This is a couple of days before Christmas. He fell asleep with that bear actually sitting on his stomach. He switched positions when I went to get the camera. His favorite is doggies and he just likes to hug them and keep one of them next to him at all times.
Kasey in New Hampshire jumping with the harness.
three years old.
I LOVE Kasey's toe head.
This was taken this year at the pumpkin patch. He looks so grown up. STOP growing!
Utah 2006. 6 months old.
One thing about Kasey is that he LOVES his brother. He waits for him to come home from school and for him to wake up in the morning. I'm so lucky to have two boys.
Really? So funny. I think Kasey was 2 here.
Some things about Kasey:
He loves stuff animals
He loves soccer
He wants to be a BMX or Motorcross rider when he grows up
He's always the first one up in our house
He loves the water and playing in the sand
He LOVES sweets
He's the pickiest eater in the world
He likes to go camping and find insects
He gets chased around the school yard by all the girls....3 of them have already confessed their love and say they want to marry him.
His favorite color is red.
He's a fast runner and has tons of energy.
He loves to explore and be outside
He has an incredible smile.
He still loves to cuddle and craves my attention.
he loves to tease his brother
He's good at sports
There are just so many things I could say about Kasey. I never thought I'd have a second child but here you are. Your sweet and loving and I love all your hugs and kisses. You have so much potential and I can't wait to continue to see you grow. Happy birthday little cutie!!!!
I love how in the video he's laughing so hard and that he lifts up his shirt at the end for J to continue even though he just got upset.

New Beginnings 2012
The Lewis family (Scott's sister) came to visit this weekend for New Years. We always love having them come and my kids can't WAIT until they arrive and are very upset when they leave.
On New Years Eve, we went to visit La Salette Shrine which is a lights display the Catholic church puts on every year. It's not Temple Square but it's really pretty and the kids liked it.
Family shot.
The view from the top of one of the displays.
There are a lot of statues of saints. I love the snowflakes hanging in the trees and the lights around this one.On New Years day we went to church followed by dinner. This is my nephew Cooper giving me birthday loves. LOVE Alan's get up here. He was sick the whole weekend and had to keep his head warm..:)
So as the New Year begins I have most of the same resolutions that seem to never get done. Most of all however I hope it's a year of good health for us all. Thanks to all who contacted me in any way to make me feel loved on my birthday. I've stayed up as long as I can remember and waited for friends/family to call at midnight. I love it. My favorite was my dad calling at midnight to sing happy birthday to me. Thanks for staying up late to make me feel loved.
Happy New Year.
